Kinect is “fastest selling consumer electronics device in history”

Kinect, the Xbox 360 motion control device – you know, the one that could have so easily have gone the way of the pear at retail has somehow become the “fastest selling consumer electronics device in history”. That’s right – the fastest of all freakin’ time.

This was announced in a recent conference call by chief financial officer Peter Kelin and it it turns out to be true, which I have no reason to believe it wouldn’t, then, well, I don’t know really. The fastest of all time…..yikes.

Obviously Microsoft are going to be pretty chuffed with this. Core gamers though, maybe not so much. Expect the huge popularity of Kinect to mean much more in the way of family friendly fare. Ok, so Microsoft has promised us that core games will work with Kinect and that many are on the way but until I see the proof, well, I’m not going to be jumping for you at the inevitable announcement of Kinectimals 2.
